Take seven musical works written by contemporary composers. The music reflects seven worlds, seven individual and different imaginations; they were not written for dance. Offer them, impose them on a choreographer with no other constraints than to work with them... Those are the rules of the game! Seven miniature ballets emerge as so many pieces of a puzzle assembled in a choreographic tableau to reveal other lives, other destinies. This is how the 2004 Miniatures were born, created by Jean-Christophe Maillot as part of the Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo.
Twenty-two years later, new Miniatures are born and are an opportunity for the choreographer to invite to his side "friends of the company", four former dancers of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, who moved to the other side of the curtain, in their turn setting their understanding into movement.
