Education Department
Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo is developing a cultural education policy with teachers, students and artists based on a demanding multidisciplinary artistic practice.
THE OBJECTIVES
→ Help children to feel good in their bodies, to thrive with others: participate in their individual and social construction.
→ Teach children to decide, to act, to become independent, to gain confidence, to develop a sense of effort with enjoyment.
→ Promote children's cultural appetite by experimenting with “artistic emotion”.
THE PHILOSOPHY
Jean-Christophe Maillot is making available the entire cultural, human and technical heritage of the Monegasque company to deliver these artistic and cultural projects with schools in the Principality.
→ An Educational Team
Teachers registered in CHORE-VOIX education, classical dance teachers, former dancers of La Compagnie des Ballets de Monte-Carlo, choral conductors, authors (writing workshops)
→ An Artistic Team
Choreographer, musical director, writer, director, etc..
→ A Framework
Projects planned over a period (from 6 to 16 months) involving regular work (weekly workshops and courses). Spaces suited for practicing movement: Atelier des Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Diaghilev Dance Studio, Salle Garnier Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Salle Prince Pierre of the Grimaldi Forum Monaco
→ Partners
Direction de l'Education Nationale de la Jeunesse et des Sports de Monaco, SOGEDA, Inspection Académique des Alpes Maritimes, Académie de Musique et de Théâtre Prince Rainier III, Pavillon Bosio - Ecole Supérieure d'Arts Plastiques de la ville de Monaco, CREA Centre de Création Vocale et scénique d'Aulnay-sous-Bois, Ville de Beausoleil, Médiathèque Bibliothèque Louis Notari, Institut Jaques-Dalcroze de Genève, Centre National de la Danse ...
PROJECTS
BODY-MOVEMENT / BODY-VOCAL focused on artistic practice: project focused on the fundamentals of movement offered to all CE2 (Year 4) classes, to allow each child to access a demanding and fun artistic practice programme at some point in their school career.
Choreography-Vocals (CHORÉ-VOIX) focused on artistic creation: educational projects as part of the preparation and presentation of a creation, involving classes, students enrolled outside school hours, teachers in training.
Training of TRAINERS focused on artistic experience: train teachers in artistic practice so that they can pass that on to their students as part of CHORÉ-VOIX creations (16 months of training) or modules of 4 to 6 weekends of communication-oriented courses.
