TIMULAK - KOR’SIA
To close the season, Jean-Christophe Maillot has invited Lukáš Timulak and the Kor’sia Company to come and develop two creations for Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo. Having already visited Monaco, these emerging creators are breathing an invigorating air on contemporary dance charming more and more companies every year.
Former dancer of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo (trained at L’Académie Princesse Grace), choreographer Lukáš Timulak has been working with designer Peter Bilak for more than two decades, exploring the possibilities of the performing arts and artistic expression. The duo is fascinated by the principles of nature’s organisation, its apparent chaos and the way in which individual elements are always part of a larger whole. In the new piece created for Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, they continue to explore natural phenomena and strive to create an in situ project, something that will only happen once in a given place. Every day, the experience is different, with changes in scenography, like the world around us which is constantly changing.
Spectators at the Monaco Dance Forum will surely remember the Kor’sia company and its singular universe unveiled through its incredible ballet, Igra. Since then, Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo have continued to surprise audiences. In each of their works, visual power plays a decisive role in musical and theatrical choices, making this Madrid company one of the most innovative on the current scene.
