LA VALSE & L'ENFANT ET LES SORTILÈGES

Balanchine & Maillot

Created by Ravel in 1925 in Monte-Carlo to a libretto by Colette (whose 150th anniversary is being celebrated this year), L’Enfant et les Sortilèges was one of the favourite works of HSH Prince Rainier III. The new creation by Jean-Christophe Maillot will bring together 240 artists at the stage of the Grimaldi Forum to give substance to this large-format musical comedy ahead its time conceived by Ravel. Before unveiling This extraordinary creation, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will perform La Valse by George Balanchine: a return to the roots for this ballet performed twenty years ago and of which Prince Rainier III, was also fond.
