Olga Smirnova invited by Ballets de Monte-Carlo in 2023
Jean-Christophe Maillot discovered Olga Smirnova in 2014 while creating The Taming of the Shrew for the Bolshoi Ballet, she interpreted the role of Bianca. Seduced by the qualities of the Russian soloist currently a dancer at the Dutch National Ballet, the choreographer-director invited her occasionally to Monaco to dance roles from his repertoire.
This year, the collaboration between the two artists will be particularly marked: in January 2023 on the occasion of the Company’s tour in Sevilla, Olga Smirnova will be Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. Later, for the 50th Prix de Lausanne presided over by Jean-Christophe Maillot, she will perform a Pas de deux from his Nutcracker Company. Finally, in April 2023, she will return to Monaco to perform the role of La Belle in the ballet of the same name.
