Mackenzie Brown, Gold Medal winner at the Prix de Lausanne 2019

On Saturday 9 February 2019, Mackenzie Brown, an American student at the Princess Grace Academy, won First Prize at the Prix de Lausanne!

In addition to a scholarship (First Prize-Gold Medal), the 16-year-old ballerina won the Contemporary Dance Prize and Audience Favourite Prize. During the selections, she performed the classic variation from La Bayadère and a solo from the ballet Abstract, a piece created in 2018 by Jean-Christophe Maillot. For this year’s 47th Lausanne Grand Prix, 21 competitors (out of 74) were selected for the final by the jury presided over by Carlos Acosta, Prix de Lausanne 1990.

This is the second year in a row that a Princess Grace Academy student wins the Gold Medal in this prestigious competition, which recognises young dancers’ talent and potential.

Congratulations!
