Little costume for a teddy bear!

The team in Company's Costume Department has hand-embroidered a scaled-down version of the "tutu à plateau" from "L'Oiseau de Feu" by Fokine for a teddy bear!

A reference suggested by Jean-Michel Lainé, Head of the Department, commissioned by the "De Fil en Aiguille" association in Monaco which was looking for original creations for its exhibition of embroideries in support of the Princess Grace Foundation.

Identical to the original, created by Leon Bakst and worn by prima ballerina Paola Cantalupo, during the revival of the ballet in 1992 in the Salle Garnier. It needed almost 180 hours for Jean-Michel Lainé and his team - Paula Lopes (assistant), Felicia Cogh, Sophie Vigneron, Célia Le Scornec, Marie-Betty Fabre and Marianne Le Breton (wardrobe mistresses).

The exhibition of hand-made embroideries will be inaugurated by H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover, Honorary Chair of the "De Fil en Aiguille" association.
Open to the public, on Tuesday 20 November from 2 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday 21 November from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Hotel Hermitage, Salon Gustave - Square Beaumarchais, Monte-Carlo.
