Dov'è la Luna

J-Ch. Maillot

- Where is the Moon -

A solemn mass for seven dancers, Dov'è la luna delves into shadow and light in search of bodies hidden within. This monochrome work, with its chiaroscuro tones, jolts and extends the vocabulary and technique of classical dance, pushed by the choreographer to its furthest frontiers.

"This ballet has neither beginning nor end. It remains in transit. Transience seems to me to be the only permanent state of being, perhaps the only one that is genuine. In certain mythologies, the moon represents this passage between life and death, the passage that prepares for rebirth". Jean-Christophe Maillot
