Alvaro Prieto studied dance at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza in Madrid. He also joined “Europa Danse” under the direction of Jean-Albert Cartier, where he had the opportunity to work with choreographers Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Mauro Bigonzetti, and Ohad Naharin.

2005
He joined the Compania Nazional di Danza under the direction of Nacho Duato (CNDII) where he performed Gnawa, Rassemblement, Jardi Tancat, Coming Together, Alone for a Second, l’Amoroso, Without Words as well as a few works by Gentian Doda, Chevy Muraday, and Tony Fabre.

2008
He joined Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo directed by Jean-Christophe Maillot, he danced most of his choreographies interpreting already some of the soloist roles. Later, as a soloist, he danced principal roles in most of his works as: the King and Father of the Prince in La Belle, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Mephistopheles in Faust, the Father in Cinderella, the King in LAC (role created in 2011 for him), the Father in Casse-Noisette Compagnie.

He was also chosen by guest choreographers at the Monte-Carlo Ballet to perform: Spectre by Olivier Dubois, The Rite of Spring by Maurice Béjart, les Noces by Jiri Kylian, Writing Ground by Alonzo King, The Ballet Body by Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten, and In-Exact by Johan Inger, New Sleep by William Forsythe, Blind Willow by Ina C. Johannessen, Rondo by Ekman, Tales absurd, fatalistic visions predominate by Natalia Horecna (main character), Le Baiser de la Fée by Vladimir Varnava (main character).
